Comerțbank promotes financial education during ,,Global Money Week

From 20-26 march 2023 was held a week of knowledge called Global Money Week.

Global Money Week is an event coordinated by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) that takes place annually in more and more countries.

Comerțbank organized activities focusing at educating and promoting financial education, as the acceptation of the initiative of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) which is the national coordinator of the financial education process.  

In this context, the bank's representatives held financial education lessons and interactive activities with the presentation of daily activities in the banking sector for pupils of the 4th grade:

  • On 20 March, at the "Elena Alistar" Theoretical High School of Arts in Chisinau
  • On 23 March, at Branch No. 1 in Chisinau for pupils of the ,,Mihail Kogălniceanu" Theoretical High School.

The children were attentive, curious and interested in finance during all the lessons and presentations.

The children were informed about the financial banking terms, learned the security features of the Moldovan leu, the history of money and other curiosities in the financial field. Also bank representatives showed the payment methods, how the banknote counting and checking machines work.

At the end of the financial education lesson, were organized interactive competition in order to check the knowledges, so the students received participation diplomas, and the most smart and attentive students received gifts from Comerțbank.

“Through these activities, we intended to promote financial education to the young generation. Investment in the financial-banking knowledge of children from an early age means a financially educated society", said Olga Bejenaru, Head of Development and Marketing Department. 

 

GMW -   is an annual global awareness-raising campaign on the importance of financial education for young people, from an early age about gradually acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours necessary to make sound financial decisions.
